Marks And Spencer's carbon neutral bra made in Sri Lanka

Cheap calls may have ensued from Sri Lankan's to family members in the UK, following news that Marks & Spencer's new carbon neutral bra was made in the country.
The British retailer has unveiled the world's first carbon neutral bra, which will form part of the Autograph Leaves lingerie collection.
Made in M&S' eco-model factory MAS Intimates in Thurulie, Sri Lanka, the bra comes in four styles and is also available as a set including knickers and suspenders.
The waste initiatives implemented at the MAS factory have come in for particular recognition.
Initiatives are thought to have reduced the carbon intensity of energy used by an estimated 33 per cent.
M&S head of lingerie technology Paschal Little explained: "As a result of this project we know raw material production, such as lace manufacture, is a major contributing factor to the bra's footprint, so we're now working with our suppliers to find better alternatives for the future."
Workers and their families in Sri Lanka also benefitted from the project, with M&S having contributed to the planting of 6,000 trees locally to support local animal populations.
