Gay activists target Romney with glitter bomb

Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney was targeted by gay rights activists during his Minnesota rally on Wednesday (February 1st), according to reports.
The candidate, who was in formidable form following his victory in Florida, was struck with a glitter bomb as he made his way to the stage, ABC News revealed.
Romney took little heed of the incident however, as he said: “I’m happy for a little celebration, this is confetti. We just won Florida.”
He remained optimistic about his presidential prospects as he added that his campaign would win over the White house next.
His wife Ann and son Josh rushed to his aid following the incident, brushing sparkles from his hair and blazer.
The activists are believed to be part of the organisations Glitterati and Occupy Minneapolis, who have thrown glitter at other presidential hopefuls in the past to draw attention to their policies on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights.
Mitt was born in March 1947 to parents Lenore and George in Detroit, later marrying his wife in 1969.
