Hurricane Kenneth becomes a record breaker

Few catastrophes get phone lines buzzing in the USA like a hurricane, but the recent Hurricane Kenneth may have seen people taking advantage of cheap USA calls for an entirely different reason.
The weather event has made it into the record books for being the latest major hurricane of the season to have emerged from the eastern Pacific Ocean.
Kenneth easily qualified for its 'major' status, with NAsa's Terra satellite recording sustained winds of up to 145 mph and boasting a storm diameter of 300 miles as of November 21st at 13:20, Eastern Standard Time.
The Hurricane has since weakened rapidly and has been downgraded to a Category 2 storm, having been forecast earlier this week to turn towards the west-northwest shores of America today.
Kenneth previously reached Category 4 status, but is no longer considered a threat to anyone on land, with maximum sustained winds having slowed to 110mph.
