USA postal service looks to make changes

Those who make cheap USA calls may already be aware that the country's postal service is looking to cut costs.
Its methods for doing so were outlined this week and include the slowing down of First Class mail delivery.
Overall, the organisation wants to save $20 billion by 2015 - and ending next-day delivery would help reach this target.
This is because it will reduce the number of processing centres the service requires, vice president of network operations David Williams explained to reporters.
"Most of the time [the next-day sorting machines] are sitting idle [...] our network is simply too big to handle the revenues coming in today," Bloomberg quoted him as saying.
The news comes almost three months after the agency said it would examine 252 of its 487 sites for potential closure. The changes to first class delivery would mean mail reaches its destination between two and three days after sending, rather than the current limit of one to three days.
