1. Collection of information 1.1 Primus Planet Talk may collect personal information from the Customer from a number of sources, including: 1.2 When the Customer agrees to take a service or product from Primus Planet Talk, in which case this may include the Customer’s contact details, date of birth, payment method and possibly bank details. 1.3 When the Customer contacts Primus Planet Talk with an enquiry or in response to a communication from Primus Planet Talk, in which case this may tell Primus Planet Talk something about the Customer’s preferences; 1.4 From publicly available sources, such as the electoral register. 2. Use of information 2.1 Primus Planet Talk will use personal information about the Customer for a number of purposes, including: 2.1.1 In the case of any Customer who is an individual about whom Primus Planet Talk processes personal data (as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998), the following shall apply: 2.1.2 Primus Planet Talk may process such personal data for the purposes of administering the relationship with the Customer and, as part of its use of such data, may transfer that data to other Primus Planet Talk affiliates in jurisdictions outside the UK which do not provide the same level of protection for personal data as exists in the UK. 2.1.3 Primus Planet Talk may also, from time to time, use such personal data to provide the Customer, whether by telephone or facsimile or electronic mail or other means of communication, with details of promotions, products and services of Primus Planet Talk which may be of interest to the Customer. 2.1.4 Primus Planet Talk may use credit scoring or carry out a credit check when considering the Customer’s application and also when operating account(s) or making credit decisions or otherwise providing the Service.
2.2 By entering into this Agreement, the Customer expressly agrees to the use of personal data for the purposes described above. 2.3 To help improve Primus Planet Talk’s service and in the interests of security it may monitor and/or record the Customer’s telephone calls with it. 3. Web access 3.1 If the Customer communicates with Primus Planet Talk via the Internet then Primus Planet Talk may occasionally use email to contact the customer about its services and products. 3.2 The Customer’s use of our web site signifies the Customers consent to Primus Planet Talk collecting and using personal information about the Customer as specified in accordance with this Policy. 3.3 Should Primus Planet Talk choose to change its Policy for any reason, the changes will be posted on the Primus Planet Talk web site, so that the Customer is always kept informed of how Primus Planet Talk collects and uses the Customer’s personal information, and when Primus Planet Talk may disclose it. 4. Cookies 4.1 We use "cookies" to monitor site user traffic patterns and site usage. This helps us to understand how our customers and potential customers use our website so that we can develop and improve the design, layout and functionality of the sites. 4.2 A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to the Customer’s browser from a web sites computers and stored on the Customer’s computer hard drive. 4.3 Each web site can send its own cookie to the Customer’s browser if the Customer’s browsers preferences allow it, but (to protect the Customer’s privacy) the Customer’s browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to the Customer, not the cookies sent to You by other sites. 4.4 The Customer can configure its browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify the Customer when a cookie is set. (Each browser is different, so the Customer needs to check the "Help" menu of its browser to learn how to change its cookie preferences. 5. Online-Payment: 5.1 It is safe to make payments to Primus Planet Talk online. 5.2 It is Planet Talk’s policy to protect the Customer’s privacy by making the Customer’s online transactions with the Primus Planet Talk secure. 5.3 When the Customer sends their payment details, they are encrypted, or changed to unreadable code, on their journey between the Customer’s computer and Primus Planet Talk. So any information the Customer sends cannot be read between these two points. 5.4 When the Customer’s payment details arrive they are held securely at our end. Access to the Customer’s information is carefully restricted. 5.5 Primus Planet Talk will only use the Customer’s card details for the payment concerned. We will not disclose the Customer’s card details to any third parties other than the bank, which processes them for payment. 5.6 Once the Customer’s payment has been authorised, Primus Planet Talk will give the Customer notification of this confirmation via email or letters.
