Man claims Sri Lankan secret agents sexually abused him

A man operating under an alias while in Sri Lanka has claimed government undercover agents kidnapped, tortured and sexually abused him at the weekend, it has been reported.
Premakumar Gunaratnam, a political activist with dual Sri Lankan and Australian nationality, could cause a stir among those planning to call Sri Lanka.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Mr Gunaratnam has said he was abducted from his Colombo home when between 15 and 20 men stormed into the house using a language that gave them away as government representatives.
He told the news provider: “I can confirm I was abducted by the Sri Lankan government forces, who blindfolded and tortured me.
“This includes, I am embarrassed to say, sexual torture. I was handcuffed and my ankles were bound during the whole period.”
However, Sri Lankan defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa denied allegations that state agencies were involved in the attack, adding that authority investigations were hindered as the man’s Australian passport names him as Noel Mudalige.
