Filipino low cost airline unveils plans to fly to Europe

The largest national flag carrier in the Philippines has revealed expansion plans that would enable it to run low cost flights to parts of Europe, it was announced today (January 31st).
Those wishing to make cheap calls to Philippines may see their costs further reduced when Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) begins running up to eight new aircrafts for low cost flights around the world.
As many as 11 million Filipinos live outside their home country and will likely welcome the move, which also proposes air routes to the Middle East, Australia and the US.
People hoping to fly internationally through the airline could see the cost slashed by up to 80 per cent when promotional offers come into effect and can expect to pay around 35 per cent less than those currently offered by other airlines.
CEB president and chief executive officer Lance Gokongwei said: “We are exploring serving cities where large Filipino communities reside.
“Data indicates that more than half of Filipinos deployed in these regions take multiple stops … because no home carrier can fly them there non-stop”
The increase in flight paths is due to begin from the third-quarter of 2013.
